my TRAVELSAt 23, with cash in my pocket from a voluntary redundancy, I set off to explore Africa for 6 months. It was mind-blowing, and the memories will stay with me forever.
Africa taught me to face the unexpected and improvise. I encountered all sorts of creatures. It was great fun comparing animal behaviour to that of some characters I knew back home. It inspired me to later travel to New Zealand, Australia, South America, South East Asia and all over Europe - which was all child's play after Africa. |
my GEEKY SIDEAt school, I took a shine to maths and science, which led me to study engineering. I still have a passion for these subjects, which thankfully I get to use in my work.
I am fascinated with exponential technologies. Some of these are directly related to my training e.g. AI, Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles. |
my MUSICI have always loved music and had a good ear for picking up a tune. After finishing all the classical violin grades, I morphed into a fiddler and did some busking on the streets of Dublin, London, or wherever I ran short of dough.
With the help of my slightly deaf, bass-playing "rock star" cousin, I got into the electric guitar. I think that's when the computer programming stopped, and my hearing deteriorated. So far in 2018, I've been to see the Vienna Boys' Choir, Iron Maiden and The Killers. What a mix! |
